Maine signs of Spring

Many people in my world are celebrating spring. They're posting photos of picnics, tank tops, and tropical vacations.

Here's the spring photo I took yesterday during a walk with Cecelia...

Bar Harbor

She should have been wearing a jacket. But it does feel like spring here in Maine, and I'm loving the fact that it's a little slower to start. It is still glorious and beautiful and well, Maine.

Maine

The more I look within, the more I realize that I like a slower pace. Winter in Maine is slooooow.

And cozy. And quiet. And lazy. And good. But I had started to worry that I wouldn't be able to gear myself up for the 12 hour days and 7 day weeks that are required of a shop owner in Bar Harbor during the summer.

That first warm sunny day brought with it such a burst of energy that all my fears subsided and I got to work.

the shop is open

Watching spring happen in this beautiful place has brought so much inspiration and excitement.

The Shop is open and new goods are coming in daily.

And if you follow me on instagram, you already know about my family's Easter headbands, my vintage sunnies, and my secret running path...

So while spring here still requires jackets and scarves on some days, summer is around the corner and (if you follow me on pinterest, you know that) I'll be ready to enjoy that too!

Cheers!

No tank tops here! One brief, delirious flirtation with summer (8o degrees) and then – zoom! – back down to the high 40s. So I am reduced to shivering in my frigid office, blasting the space heater and envying you those still-chilly but beautiful views!!!!! And the headbands!
